Grace N Grits team cooking Southern BBQ

Where it all began.

Our Story

Born in a backyard. Built on tradition.

Grace N Grits Started at the Family Table

Grace N Grits was born the way most great things are — not in a boardroom, but around a table. Our founder grew up in a household where Sunday dinner wasn't optional, where the smoker ran all night before a big gathering, and where feeding people well was the highest form of love.

What started as cooking for family reunions and neighborhood cookouts slowly became something bigger. Word spread. Friends asked us to cater their large gatherings. Colleagues wanted us at their company events. Before long, Grace N Grits was a real business — but the soul behind it never changed.

Today we serve the Greater Atlanta Area, bringing the same slow-smoked craft and genuine Southern hospitality to every event we cater — from intimate rehearsal dinners to 500-person corporate spreads.

Two words. One meaning.

What Does "Grace N Grits" Mean?

Grace is the spirit we bring to every event — the warmth, the care, the attention to detail that makes guests feel truly welcomed. It's the hospitality our grandmothers modeled and that we carry forward in everything we do.

Grits is the soul of Southern cooking — humble, honest, deeply rooted. It represents the scratch-made sides, the slow-smoked meats, and the no-shortcuts philosophy that defines our food.

Together, they're who we are: a catering company that takes the craft seriously and the people even more so.

Where the name really came from...

My first Christmas with my new wife, we joined her family for a Christmas Eve service at a small rural church in Georgia. It was a warm, simple Southern service with a visiting pastor — the kind of place where everybody knows everybody and the pews creak just right.

The pastor shared a story that has stayed with me ever since. He said that when he first came to the South, he stopped into a Waffle House and ordered a meal. When the waitress brought his food, he noticed something on the plate — a white, gelatinous substance he didn't recognize. He looked up at her and asked what it was.

"Sir, dat dems there is grits," she told him.

He told her he hadn't ordered them. She smiled and said:

"Dems just comes."

And in that moment, the pastor said, he understood something profound — Grace is like grits. You don't have to ask God for grace. Dems just comes.

That story hit me right in the heart, sitting in that little church on Christmas Eve. It's the reason we named this company what we did. We don't just want to serve great food — we want every guest at every event to feel that same unearned, unexpected warmth. Grace N Grits. Dems just comes.

What we stand for.

Our Values

Low & Slow, Always

We never rush the process. Every brisket, every rack of ribs, every whole chicken gets the time it deserves — because great BBQ can't be faked.

Made with Love

Every recipe we serve started at a family table. We cook the way our grandmothers taught us — with intention, care, and a whole lot of heart.

Community First

We're proud to be rooted in the Greater Atlanta community. We source locally when we can, hire locally always, and give back whenever we're able.

No Shortcuts

We make our sides from scratch, season our meats with our own blends, and show up to every event like it's the most important one we've ever done — because to you, it is.

Rooted in Atlanta.

Proud to Serve Our Community

Atlanta isn't just where we work — it's home. We're proud to be part of a city with such a rich food culture and an even richer sense of community. We hire local, source from local vendors when possible, and look for ways to give back to the neighborhoods that have supported us.

We've had the honor of feeding thousands of Atlanta families, businesses, and couples on their most important days. That trust means everything to us, and we don't take it lightly.
